| 1st | Library Library Search |
Elementary students come to the library on a regular basis. Megan Luden is the library assistant who helps the students select their books, check them out and then puts them on the shelves when they are returned. Mrs. Trenerry selects seasonal books to read to the groups. |
| 2nd | Library |
Elementary students visit the library this hour, too. Karla Parsons continues helping with the clerical duties in the back room. Ashley Auch is now the student assistant. We are excited about the new 153 books we have received from the Book Fair. |
| 3rd | Spanish II |
The class has mastered the preterite and imperfect verb tenses. Their current work is centered on learning the futuro tense. The students write one hundred word journals twice a week. Our January trip to Inca's and to two Mexican grocery stores in Sioux Falls was a highlight, Every Wednesday the Spanish II class visits the third grade classroom and teaches basic Spanish. |
| 7th English |
Josh Fisher is the student assistant. The current project is a heritage report which includes research, writing, editing, graphing and computer work. These reports will be presented orally as well as submitted in written form. The final composition for the year will be about their Hobbies and Collections. Grammar work will include learning about adjectives and adverbs. After the parts of speech are studied, their uses in sentences will be examined. Examples are direct objects, indirect objects and predicate nominatives. Monday spelling assignments are due on Wednesday. The trial spelling tests are given on Wednesdays and the final ones on Fridays. The grades for the seventh graders are based one-third on spelling, one-third on writing and one-third on grammar. |
